THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Family accused doctors of negligence in duty after an 18-year-old girl died hours after getting discharged. Meenakshi(18) was discharged from the medical college hospital yesterday and was heading toward her home in Pirappancode, Attingal. She developed body pain from the start of the journey and was visibly drained. When the vehicle reached Ulloor, which is not even 1 km from the medical college, Meenakshi vomited badly. She was admitted back to the medical college but was declared dead. According to doctors, it was a rare case of a heart attack happening among younger people.

Meenakshi was admitted on May 17th to medical college Thiruvananthapuram after developing an allergy from wearing artificial gold. The family staged a protest and tensions slowly allayed after Attingal police took a case for unnatural death. The postmortem report will be duly checked before moving on with the case.
