No stopping '2018', Rs 150 crore collection in just 22 days

Just 22 days after its release, the movie '2018' has grossed Rs 150 crore in total worldwide collection. The movie shattered the erstwhile-held Malayalam cinema records of Pulimurugan and Lucifer. This is not the quickest Rs 150 crore entry in the Malayalam film industry but the onward pace of the movie can easily upend many such towering records, predicts theatre owners. Considering the reception in other states, the movie was released in Telugu two days back to excellent reports.

2018 is based on the Kerala floods that shook the state and took several lives. Jude and his co-writer Akhil P Dharmajan took inspiration from several real-life incidents to script the film as a hyperlink thriller.
