MUMBAI: Two Malayali siblings drowned in a pond in Mumbai while bathing their pet dog. The two dead are Dr Ranjith Ravindran (21) and Keerthi Ravindran (17), children of Ravindran and Deepa Ravindran, residents of Haripad and residing in Dombivli East Anandam Regency. The tragedy happened when they were bathing their dog in a pond at Dawdi in Dombivli East.
The dog swam into the deep end of the pool while bathing. Ranjith drowned while trying to catch the dog. Eyewitnesses said Keerthi drowned while trying to save her brother. The accident happened when their parents were in Kerala. The bodies were found in a long search by the Manpada police and the fire brigade. The bodies will be brought to Kerala after post-mortem. Ranjith was a house surgeon at Seawoods Hospital in Navi Mumbai. Keerthy had completed her plus two.
