Bride elopes with lover with help of relative on wedding eve; three including lovers later killed in accident

LUCKNOW: In a tragic incident, a woman and her lover were killed in a road accident while eloping on the eve of her wedding. The woman's cousin, who had helped her to elope, was also killed in the accident. The incident took place in Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased have been identified as Mirzapur native Rani (21), Karan (21) and Vikas (21). The accident took place last Saturday. Rani's marriage was scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Rani's marriage was fixed with a man from Prayagraj. According to police, the woman was against the match as she had an affair with a local boy, who was her cousin's friend. The two planned an elopement with the help of her cousin. According to the police, Rani's lover and cousin reached her house on the motorcycle and the three sped away after dodging the relatives who were busy with the wedding preparations. They had barely travelled a kilometer when they met with an accident. All three people died on the spot.
