Controversial doctor who used his own sperm to impregnate patients dies in plane crash

NEWYORK: Dr. Morris Wortman, 72, the doctor accused of using his own sperm to impregnate women undergoing infertility treatment has died in a plane crash. The doctor was killed when the Wittman W-5 Buttercup plane he was traveling in collapsed near Orleans County in western New York. The police informs that the wings of the plane got separated during the flight and the plane crashed in a field.

It was a hand-built test plane that crashed. Pilot Earl Luce Jr. had previously shared detailed information about the making of this plane online. Earl also died is the crash. Morris Wortman was a very popular OB-GYN doctor in the 80's and 90's. However many who approached Morris for infertility treatment at that time alleged that Morris used his own sperm for insemination. Then a case was filed against Morris in 2021 on a complaint filed by the daughter of a person who got pregnant at that time. What was said to be a medical student's sperm was the doctor's own sperm. The lawsuit is still pending, according to the complaint, but Wortman had not commented on the matter.
