THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Alphonse Kannanthanam said that the Muslim League is a party only for those from the Muslim community. He was responding to Rahul Gandhi's statement that Muslim League is a secular party. Alphonse Kannanthanam said that the League had only Muslim members and no Hindus or Christians.
The League does not respond to terrorism and fundamentalism. The BJP leader also said that even though Kerala has become a laboratory for ISIS, not a single was has been said by the party. Alphonse Kannanthanam criticized Rahul Gandhi that he is commenting on the league without the ability to understand things.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said during his visit to America that the Muslim League is a completely secular party. While talking to the media in New York, he said that there is nothing non-secular in the league. Rahul Gandhi was responding to a journalist's question comparing BJP and Muslim League.
"You criticized the Hindu party BJP and talked about secularism. But isn't Congress in alliance with the Muslim League, a Muslim party, in Kerala, where you were an MP?' asked the journalist. 'Muslim League is a completely secular party. There is nothing non-secular about Muslim League. I think the person (who sent the question) has not studied the Muslim League.'- said Rahul Gandhi.
