Dispute over toll collection; employee beats car driver to death

RAMANAGAR: A toll plaza employee on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway beat a car driver to death. Pawan Kumar (26), a resident of Karikal Tandya in Bengaluru South, was the one who got killed. The incident took place at Sheshagirihalli toll plaza in Ramanagar district of Karnataka at 10 pm last night. Reportedly, a dispute related to toll is what led to the murder.

Pawan Kumar and his friends were going from Mysuru to Bengaluru via expressway. They reached the Sheshagirihalli toll plaza around 9 pm and then the dispute regarding the toll payment started. As it turned into a conflict, the locals dismissed them. Later, Pawan and his friends left the spot, but the toll staff followed their vehicle. The toll staff stopped the car and attacked them with hockey sticks. Pawan Kumar was attacked and he died on the spot itself. The police registered a case in the incident and started a search for the accused.
