THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cyclone Biparjoy formed in the Arabian Sea will intensify in the next few hours. It will turn into severe cyclonic storm the day after tomorrow. As part of this, there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala.
Biparjoy moving nearly northwards direction, is likely to move towards Karachi or Oman coasts. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of light showers at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next three hours. Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. Fishing is prohibited in Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts. A warning has also been given to the ports along the Kerala coast.
Widespread rain with thundershowers and wind is predicted in Kerala for the next five days. The Central Meteorological Department has also informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places from June 6 to 10.
