KOCHI: The Kerala High Court ordered to recover the excess land held by P V Anwar MLA and his family members in violation of the Land Reforms Act. The court has asked the government to immediately recover the land and submit a report.
The high court had earlier ordered that the excess land held by Anwar should be taken back. However, now the high court has been directed to take action in a contempt of court plea filed pointing out that this order is not being implemented. The government sought a ten-days’ time to submit the explanation, but the court refused to grant it. The court has asked to submit a detailed affidavit by next Tuesday.
The high court had on March 20, 2020 ordered to recover the excess land held by P V Anwar MLA and his family members, within six months. The court had in January 2022 ordered to recover the surplus land within five months in a contempt of court plea filed alleging that this was not implemented. Alleging that this was also not followed, the complainant approached the high court again.
