Mammootty bags Best Actor award after 13 years, his eighth state award

This year's Kerala State Film Awards was announced a little while ago. As expected, Mammootty bagged the award for Best Actor for the film 'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam' directed by Lijo Jose Pellisery. This is Mammootty's eighth state film award and fifth best actor award.

In 'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayyakam', Mammootty played the role of James who leads a group returning from Velankanni to Muvattupuzha. After waking up from a small nap, he starts behaving like the person Sundaram. Mammootty's transition from James to Sundaram and back to James in the film was a visual treat for the audience.
