Gangraped after promising chance in movie; accomplice woman arrested

KOZHIKODE: In the incident where a woman was gang-raped after being offered a role in a movie, the woman from Kannur who helped the accused was arrested. A team led by Kozhikode Town Police Assistant Commissioner Bijuraj arrested Afsina (29), a native of Kannur Mundayad, who is also a friend of the victim.

The molestation victim is a woman, a native of Kottayam, who was working in Kannur. Afsina, who became friends with the woman, took her to a flat with the help of her friend Shamir and gang-raped her. Then she threatened those who raped the woman saying that she would lodge a complaint with the police. Afsina and Shameer themselves went to the Nadakkave police station with the victim and filed a complaint. Afsina was arrested during the investigation conducted by the police.

In the case, Abubaker and Saithalavi, both natives of Malappuram, were arrested by the police from a resort in Kodagu. Police also arrested Afsina's friend Shameer Kunnummel, who had helped the accused.
