80-year-old woman dies after ambulance overturns and falls into ditch while returning home after discharged

IDUKKI: An 80-year-old woman died after an ambulance overturned and fell into a ditch. The accident happened near Rajakkad Panniyarkutty. Accidents are common in this area. The dead is Annamma Pathrose of Vattappara Chembuzha.

The accident happened Monday morning at 4.30 am. Annamma was undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The accident happened when she was returning home after discharged from the hospital. The ambulance losing control fell into a ditch of 10 feet depth. She was immediately taken to a private hospital in Rajakkad, but her life could not be saved.

Her body has been shifted to Adimali taluk hospital. The police have reached and are taking further steps.
