As the first innings came to an end in the Super 4 match between India and Pakistan, there was chatter among crowds that later morphed into celebration. One big achievement went unnoticed amidst the rain-soaked game as Virat Kohli wrote another history with his bat by breaking the long-standing record of 'little maestro' Sachin Tendulkar. From now on, 34-year-old Kohli is the fastest player to score 13,000 runs in ODI cricket.

It was in his 267th innings that Kohli achieved this marvellous feat. This world record was previously held by Sachin Tendulkar who completed 13,000 runs in 321 innings. Australia's Ricky Ponting is third with 13,000 ODI runs in 341 innings.

In the crucial Super Four match against Pakistan, India ended the batting with 356 runs in the first innings. Virat and KL Rahul remained unbeaten in the crease. Meanwhile, the game has been halted again due to rain in Colombo. Pakistan is at the crease with 44 runs in 11 overs with a loss of two wickets.
