Soldier missing in Kashmir martyred; Army intensifies search for terrorists

SRINAGAR: It is reported that one more soldier died in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag. The soldier, who went missing, has been declared dead. Four security forces personnel have lost their lives so far in Anantnag. Clashes that started on Wednesday are continuing for the third day.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the security forces used drones to launch grenade attacks on suspected terrorist hideouts. Figures on how many terrorists there are have not been released. The encounter is taking place in the Kokernag forest area of ​​Anantnag. The Army has been conducting a massive search for the terrorists for the past three days.

The army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police are jointly conducting the search using drones. It is reported that an encounter took place in the region this morning as well. Officials informed that a search for the terrorists was conducted in Garol village also.

Colonel Manpreet Singh, Commanding Officer of the 19th Rashtriya Rifles unit, Major Ashish Dhonchak and Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Bhatt were martyred in a previous encounter.
