Son shot by father with air gun, suffers serious injuries to head

PANUR: A man shot his son in the head with an air gun. Suraj (30), a native of Maharashtra living in Melepukoth, was shot by his father Gopi around 8.30 last night.

Suraj was admitted to a private hospital in Thalassery with serious head injuries. The police assume that the violence resulted from a drunken verbal argument. But Suraj told the police that the shot was fired accidentally. Police reached the spot and started an investigation. Gopi was taken into police custody. Gopi and his family have been living with their family in Panur for 40 years. He is running a company called Swapna Jewelery in Panur.
