Children staying abroad will be summoned to ensure elderly mother's protection: Women's Commission

MALAPPURAM: The Women's Commission has intervened in the complaint lodged by an elderly mother against her children. The elderly mother had filed a complaint, alleging that her son had abandoned her after acquiring her property. In order to ensure the elderly mother's safety, the Women's Commission announced that it will take action to summon the son and two daughters working abroad. Women's Commission members VR Mahilamani and Adv P Kunjaisha clarified this after the sitting held at Malappuram District Panchayat Conference Hall.

The Women's Commission will organize district and sub-district seminars at various levels to combat violence against women. Public hearings are being conducted on eleven important issues.
