THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to receive heavy rain for the next five days as a low-pressure area is located in the northwest Bay of Bengal near the West Bengal - Odisha coast. This system is likely to move over Jharkhand in the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
A yellow alert has been issued in Kannur and Kasargod today. A yellow alert has been sounded in Idukki, Kozhikode, Kasaragod, and Kannur districts tomorrow. These districts are likely to receive isolated heavy rain.
IMD announced that isolated places in Kerala are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning today and tomorrow. Strong winds will gust the state with a speed ranging from 30 to 40 km per hour.
