Caned everyone in bakery, two including child sustain injuries, SI suspended for attack

KOCHI: The locals detained a sub inspector in connection with an attack in a bakery. The incident took place in the bakery of Kunjumon of Nedumbassery. The assault was committed by sub inspector Sunil, who was on duty in the control room vehicle under Nedumbassery police station. The inspector has been suspended. The action is for drinking while on duty.

Sunil, who arrived there in control room’s vehicle, caned the people in the bakery. A woman and a child were injured. The driver was in the vehicle at this time. He was watching this. When the inspector crossed the limits, the locals detained him and informed the police.

On getting information, the Nedumbassery police reached the spot. The locals alleged that he was drunk. Meantime, rural SP said that there was no liquor bottle in the vehicle. He was subjected for a medical examination at the Angamaly Taluk Hospital.
