NEW DELHI: India has suspended issuing visas to the Canadians till further notice. This was informed by BLS International, a private agency hired for initial scrutiny of visa applications of Canadian nationals.
After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of involvement in the killing of Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the relationship between the two countries fell apart. Another Khalistan terrorist was killed in Canada today.
The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Canadian citizens coming to India, the other day. Do not travel to areas including Kashmir, travel to places like Manipur and Assam only if necessary. It was also advised to be very careful wherever you go in India.
Following this, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a warning to Indian students and citizens going to places associated with the Khalistani. The visa services have also been stopped following this.
