Kottayam Range SP to investigate allegations against Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance's Kottayam Range SP Vinod Kumar has been handed over the responsibility of conducting a preliminary investigation against Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA on the allegations of a benami transaction and tax evasion in the purchase of land in Idukki. The preliminary investigation will be completed within 3 months.

The investigation under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act is based on complaints of irregularities in the sale and registration of 1.14 acres of land and buildings in Chinnakkanal Village. The action is based on complaints filed by CPM Ernakulam District Secretary CN Mohanan and some persons of Muvattupuzha filed to the Vigilance Director and the government.
