WAYANAD: A middle-aged man was trampled to death by a tusker in Cherambadi, a high-range scenic spot close to the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Cherambadi native Kumaran(45) is the deceased. According to reports, Kumaran was on his way back home (located inside Tamil Nadu borders) when he was ambushed by the wild tusker.

Kumaran succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Tamil Nadu officials reached the spot after getting the information but it was deemed too late. Wild animal nuisance is severe in the area and it was only during July that a woman was killed in a wild tusker attack. The residents of this area are still not over the shock induced by the July incident and have now become more terrorised by the death of Kumaran.
