THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state in the coming days. This is in view of a cyclonic circulation located over North Karnataka and another cyclonic circulation over the Tamil Nadu coast in the southwest Bay of Bengal.
There is also a possibility of low pressure over Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over central East Bay of Bengal and North Andaman Sea near Myanmar coast by September 29. The Meteorological Department has informed that a low pressure is likely to intensify over the central-east Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours near the coast of Myanmar.
Moderate/intermediate rain/thunder/lightning may continue in Kerala for the next 5 days. Indian Meteorological Department warned that isolated heavy rain is also possible from September 28 to October 1.
Fisherman alert
The IMD has informed that it is not advisable to go fishing on the coasts of Kerala - Lakshadweep on 29-09-2023 and 30-09-2023. The IMD has informed that there is no disruption to fishing on the Karnataka coast.
From 29-09-2023 to 30-09-2023: Chance of strong winds and bad weather along Kerala - Lakshadweep coasts with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional up to 55 kmph.

29-09-2023 & 30-09-2023: Chance of strong winds and bad weather over South Tamilnadu coast, Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Kanyakumari coast with wind speeds reaching 40 to 45 kmph and at some occasions up to 55 kmph.
29-09-2023 & 01-10-2023: Chance of strong winds and bad weather over Sri Lankan coast, South Gulf- Central Bay areas and adjoining North Bay of Bengal with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional up to 65 kmph.
