Actress Archana Gautam and father beaten up outside Congress office, calls it on road rape

NEW DELHI: Actress and a member of the congress party Archana Gautam and her father were attacked at the AICC headquarters. The attack happened when the two came to the headquarters. Some activists were upset with them arriving at the party office and it is reported that they are behind the attack. However, there is no confirmation in this regard.

There was an altercation between her and the activists. The visuals are being circulated on social media. Archana came to meet party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi to congratulate them for the women's reservation bill getting passed in Parliament. They had earlier sought permission for their visit.

Archana said, ‘They did not allow us to enter the office, did not open the gate. My driver was hit on his head. They grabbed my hair. It was nothing less than an on-road rape. I begged them with folded hands. Dad got really scared. I'm sure Rahul and Priyanka are not aware about it. I expect a call from them. I will be shattered if Priyanka Gandhi doesn't take a stand for me now. I have always supported them'. Though Archana has returned to Mumbai, her father is in Meerut. The actress has also stated that she will soon call a press meet to explain the incident.

She joined the Congress Party in 2021 and had contested in Hastinapur seat in the UP-assembly elections. She was defeated miserably. Archana known as the bikini girl was able to garner only 1519 votes. Archana, crowned Miss Uttar Pradesh in 2014, later became Miss Bikini India and Miss Bikini Universe India. She had represented India in Miss Cosmos World 2018.
