CIAL airport: CM to inaugurate seven mega projects including 0484 luxury aero lounge

NEDUMBASSERY: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate all of the seven mega projects implemented as part of infrastructure development at the Kochi International Airport (CIAL) on Monday at 4:30 pm. Import cargo terminal, DigiYatra software, and the new technically superior airport security system will be inaugurated. In addition, the first phase completion of the international terminal development, 0484 luxury aero lounge, golf resorts, sports center, and the construction of electronic security apparatus will also be inaugurated today.

The import cargo terminal will increase CIAL's annual cargo handling capacity to 2 lakh metric tonnes. DigiYatra software designed by the CIAL IT department will ease the entry procedure at domestic terminal gates.

The airport emergency rescue system will embrace modern tools with the arrival of modern vehicles including 2 Austrian-made fire engines. The first phase of the international terminal development is about 5 lakh square feet, including a new apron of 15 lakh square feet.

0484 Luxury Aero Lounge, the country's largest airport lounge, will be built near Terminal 2 with an area of ​​50,000 sq. ft. A Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) security perimeter will be constructed along the airport's 12-km security wall.

The construction of resorts and sports centers at CIAL Golf Course is aimed at giving a facelift to golf tourism in the state.
