STOCKHOLM: The 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman. These are the scientists who have contributed to the development of the COVID-19 vaccine. Their discovery led the scientific community to develop an mRNA vaccine against COVID-19.

Katalin Karikó is a professor at Sagan University in Hungary. Drew Weissman is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Experiments conducted by the two at the University of Pennsylvania were crucial in developing the drug.
