Opposition is playing caste politics; Prime Minister criticises caste census

BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticised the opposition after the release of the caste census in Bihar. Modi accused the opposition of playing caste politics. Modi said that these are the people who divided the society based on caste even when they were in power. The Prime Minister was inaugurating various development projects in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

The Bihar government published the figures of the caste census in Bihar today. According to the new census, there are 27.13 per cent of people in the backward category and 36.01 per cent in the extremely backward category. Meanwhile, there is only 15.52 per cent of the unreserved category. The Nitish Kumar government released the caste census in Bihar while the opposition coalition India was demanding a caste census.
