THRISSUR: Pragatisheela Karmika Samakhya (PKS) state executive committee member Chandra Narasimhulu was arrested in raids conducted by the NIA in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
A man suspected of having links with the Communist Party of India (Maoist) was also arrested in raids conducted at 62 locations. Along with this, the police arrested Panginaganna while carrying Maoist revolutionary literature books, medicine, electrical wire bundles, Nipo batteries and pamphlets to hand over to the Maoist activists.
A pistol and 14 rounds of bullets were seized in the raid. Similarly, Rs 13 lakh was seized from the place of a Maoist sympathizer in Kadapa district and Maoist literature from other places. The inspection was conducted at 53 places in Guntur, Palnad, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Prakasam, Bapatla, Elur, East Godavari DR Ambedkar Konasema, Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram, Nellore, Tirupati, Kadapa Satyasai, Anantapur and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
The NIA said that while interrogating Chandra Narasimhulu, they also got information about a conspiracy related to an attempt to link up with various front organizations to continue the activities of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit. The investigation was related to a case registered by Manchingput police in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on November 23, 2020.
