THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala lambasted culture minister Saji Cherian’s facetious remark on actor Vinayakan’s arrest. Minister on Thursday implicitly supported Vinayakan saying the ruckus created in the police station was nothing but ‘artistic’ as he called Vinayakan a great actor.

Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the actor is getting unparalleled support even from ministers is for the fact that Vinayakan is an ardent left sympathizer. Ramesh urged Minister Saji Cherian to not stoop to this low and warned about losing his ministerial seat with glib talks.

“Minister remarked the ruckus created by Vinayakan at the police station as ‘artistic’. Just imagine the situation if everyone in Kerala gets drunk and reaches the police station to give their share of ‘artistic’ fights. It is shocking that the culture minister himself made this remark in a lame attempt to curry favour Vinayakan.” Ramesh Chennithala remarked.

Ramesh Chennithala’s criticism came at the stone-laying foundation of Kozhuvallur native Thangamma's house. Thangamma rose to popularity after she threw away the Silver Line project milestone from her backyard.

Vinayakan was arrested at around 7 pm on Tuesday after he reached the Ernakulam North police station and abused the police officers.
