ADOOR: Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said that Kerala Kaumudi is the guardian of public values. He was inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of editor K Sukumaran being honoured with Padma Bhushan by the country.
K Sukumaran was a newspaper editor who emphasized the sense of justice. He was imbued with the ability to take the helm of social renaissance. The editor was a different person who even took criticism. He was careful not to turn journalism into a sales commodity even when he presented the matter in a sharp manner. Kerala Kaumudi played a decisive role in purifying the political sphere of Kerala. The Padma Bhushan award went to editor K Sukumar. Sreedharan Pillai also said that such honours, which used to go to the hands of the rich, have started reaching real hands in the last few years.
