THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Kaumudi's Deputy Editor, P Suresh Babu has been honoured with the 2022 Science Literature award by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). This prestigious award includes a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a plaque and a citation will be presented during the Kasaragod Science Congress scheduled for February.
The accolade recognizes the Malayalam translation of 'The Dawn of Science,' a book co-authored by Dr Thanupadmanabhan and Dr Vasanthi Padmanabhan, titled 'Sasthrathinte Udayam.' The translated work published by the Bhasha Institute has garnered acclaim.
P Suresh Babu, a notable figure in Kerala's literary and academic circles, has a rich lineage as the son of the late CO Purushotham, former Rt. Headmaster and Rt. Headmistress PK Suresh Babu of Kollam Edakkadu. He embarked on his journey with Kerala Kaumudi in 1986 establishing himself as a significant contributor.
Residing in Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram, P Suresh Babu holds a prominent position as the Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Vellayani Agricultural College. His wife, Dr KB Sony shares his academic pursuits.
P Suresh Babu's other works include a translation of Irfan Habib's book 'Mauryananthara Bharatham', 'Vikasanonmukha Adhunikatha: Narayana Guruvun SNDP Yogavum Samoohyaparishkaravum', a translation of Chandramohan's book.
