AYODHYA: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to open the Sri Ram Temple on January 22, 2024, Three idols of Ram Lala are occupying centre stage and are nearing their completion. The temple which is constructed in a way to survive the next 1000 years will select only one sculpture among the three to be placed in the sanctum sanctorum or Garbhagriha.

Ram Lala is Rama in child form. Idols of Ram Lala are carved in white marble, granite and dark-coloured stone called Schist. The Ram Temple Trust will scrutinize the three sculptures and will select the one that has truly imbibed a five-year-old boy's energetic and adorable face. The decision will be made in the first week of January.

Preparations are going on in full swing and will be completed before January 15. Yesterday, the general secretary of the Trust, Champat Rai, invited journalists from the country and took them to Ram Janmabhoomi to explain the progress of the temple construction. Trust officials explained to the delegates, that the complex is earthquake-proof.

One of the sculptures in the temple is of Jadayu. About 100 sculptures depicting the life of Lord Rama will be installed around the temple under the name Rama Katha Darshan. The temple won’t support VIP culture and will treat all as equal. The temple offerings will be distributed to people through the counter which will be free of cost.
