Man commits suicide after hacking wife to death in Piravom, two daughters sustain hack injuries

KOCHI: A man committed suicide after hacking his wife to death. Baby of Kakkad near Piravom in Ernakulam hacked his wife Smitha to death. Their two daughters were also hacked. They were admitted to the medical college hospital in Kalamassery. The two are nursing students.

Reports said that their injuries are not serious. The incident came to light today when one of the two girls informed the neighbors. The locals said Baby had expressed some mental illness earlier. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that the murder was committed following a family dispute. An investigation has been initiated into the incident.

Police said that after hacking his wife Smitha and two daughters, Baby went to his bedroom and committed suicide. A note believed to have been written by Baby about the incident was also found on the wall of the house. He had written that a family quarrel was the cause of such an act. Smitha died on the spot itself.
