k-t-jaleel

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strict steps including a legislation to control the functioning of students organisations in campuses following the University College issue, will be taken, said Minister for Higher Education K T Jaleel. The government will take more steps to make college education more effective. If lapses are found from the side of the teachers, they will be transferred. Forcing students to stage strikes will not be entertained. The role of teachers in taking the answer sheets out will be examined.

The directions given after the suicide attempt of a girl in the college were not implemented. A legislation will be brought to restrict organizational activities in the college. Strict regulations will be brought in placing flags and notice boards on campuses. Flags and boards will be allowed to install only in designated places. The functioning of students organisations will be controlled and strict steps will be taken to see that the academic activities are not affected, the minister said.
