Monsoon moves towards northern districts of Kerala, heavy rain for three days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to the influence of monsoon and cyclonic circulation in South Arabian Sea and Tamil Nadu coast, central and north districts in Kerala will receive heavy rain for three more days. There will also be thunder and lightning in a major way. Rainfall will be heavy in hilly coastal areas. There will be strong intermitten rains. Hilly areas of southern districts will receive light rain. There will be less rain in the southern coastal region. Heavy rains were received in Thrissur, Kozhikode, Idukki and Wayanad districts on Saturday. Thrissur received more rain.

There is a possibility of sea attack due to 2.3 high waves on the coast of Kerala. Coastal residents should be very careful. No fishing allowed in Kerala coast.

There is a possibility of unexpected landslides in hilly areas of Idukki, Kottayam, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.
