NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress leader and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that she has not given up trying to form the government at the Centre. Mamata told the media in Kolkata that she will not participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the third NDA government.
"We have not given up on trying to form a government at the Centre. We are monitoring the current situation. The demand for repeal of CAA will be raised. We will demand this in the Parliament. We cannot wish you well when an unconstitutional, undemocratic party forms the government. My best wishes are for the country. We will not split your party but there will be a split within your party. People in your party are not happy" Mamata warned the BJP.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has elected Sudeep Bandopadhyay as its Lok Sabha leader. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was elected Deputy Leader of Lok Sabha and Kalyan Banerjee as Chief Whip. Derrick O'Brien will be the Leader of the Rajya Sabha. Sagarika Ghosh is the deputy lead. The meeting also elected Nadeemul Haque as Chief Whip.
