POCSO Case registered against actor Koottickal Jayachandran for sexually abusing four-year-old girl

KOZHIKODE: A POCSO case has been registered against actor Koottickal Jayachandran on the complaint of sexually abusing a four-year-old girl. The girl’s mother lodged a complaint at the Kasaba police. A case was registered soon after this.

The woman in her complaint said that he sexually abused her after taking advantage of their family issues. Soon after the complaint was lodged, the police recorded the statement after reaching her house. The police registered the child’s statement as per the directive of the district child protection unit.

Koottickal Jayachandran, who started his career as a television anchor, gained much attention. He has acted in many films.

Meantime, the police had the other day arrested a former soldier who tried to sexually assault a 17-year-old boy. The arrested is Sivakumar, a native of Vayakkal, who runs an army recruitment training institute. The case is that Shivakumar tried to abuse the student who came for training to join the army.

He tried to abuse the boy at the Major Academy in Anchal Alencheri after summoning him there. The boy pushed him and escaped from there. He then informed the nearby petrol pump. The Yeroor police took him into custody and handed him over to Anchal police. The accused was arrested and remanded under the charge of POCSO and violence against Dalits.
