THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaking at a reception given by his colleagues and friends in Thiruvananthapuram, actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi said that if people need Bharathchandran (his famous police role), he will live as the character.
"I never even uttered a 'poda' (offensive language) in my life till I did the film 'Commissioner'. I could speak proudly in front of others due to pen (writing) of Ranji Panicker and the direction of Shaji Kailas," he said.
"Suresh Kumar once sent someone to beat me, that too for a mistake I didn't commit. I said that it is difficult to share screen space with someone who can't take my beating (in the movie). It will continue like that. That was the only thing that happened that day. This Suresh Kumar, who is known as my twin brother, is the person who highlighted Rahman for saying that," he added.
"If I have evolved from being scared in a room and saying on the phone that I have not done anything wrong to the person I have become through 'Commissioner', then if Suresh Kumar send people to beat me, I will beat and chase them away. I will smash Suresh Kumar on his chest too. Ranji Panicker and Shaji Kailas groomed me for it," Suresh Gopi said.
Suresh Gopi said Bharatchandran's angry is not in his blood but in the heart. "If the people need Bharathchandran, I promise that I will live as Bharatchandran. I will behave as Bharathchandran, I will perform my responsibility as Bharathchandran and die as Bharathchandran himself," he added.
