THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SFI leaders Sivarenjith and Nazeem, who were arrested for stabbing fellow student in University College, demanded a shift in jails as they feel contagious diseases are spreading in Thiruvananthapuram district jail. However, the plea was dismissed by the court.

The court stated that the plea was an unusual one and made it clear that jail authorities are capable of taking necessary action to stop the spreading of diseases. It also extended the remand of the convicts till August 12.
