THRISSUR: Guruvayur Devaswom Board's proposal to build a super speciality hospital has received approval from authorities. Minister in charge of Devaswom Department VN Vasavan will lay the foundation stone on the 30th of this month.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had earlier promised to give Rs 56 crore for the construction of the hospital. The hospital is being prepared on two and a half acres on the south side of Devaswom Medical Centre. It has been decided to build the hospital on four floors in one lakh square feet. The design of the hospital was prepared by Damodaran Architects based in Kanhangad.
While visiting the temple in September 2022, Mukesh Ambani promised to contribute to the hospital construction fund. The design of the hospital has been forwarded to the Ambani group. If not for any obstacles in the design, there will be no hindrance for Reliance to pay the amount. This amount is only for the construction of the hospital building. The hospital will be managed by the Devaswom Board.
