PALAKKAD: Sadiq, the husband of AIYF woman leader Shahina who recently committed suicide, has lodged a complaint against a CPI leader who was Shahina's friend. Sadiq has lodged the complaint against Shahina's friend with the CPI district secretary.
Sadiq, who was working abroad, returned home yesterday. In his complaint, he stated that Shahina committed suicide due to financial liabilities.
"Shahina had incurred a huge financial liability due to her friend's excessive interference. The debt was settled with the money we got from selling my family property. She had also taken a personal loan after this. She committed suicide due to financial liability," Sadiq said.
The police have recorded Sadiq's statement. Sadiq demanded that those who were responsible for his wife's suicide should be brought before justice. Shahina, who was a district committee member of the AIYF, was found hanging at her rented house on Monday morning. A team comprising forensic and fingerprint experts had carried out an inspection at the house the other day.
The police have taken Shahina's phone and diary into custody. They also collected details from her house in Edaseram.
