Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards announced; Haritha Savithri's 'Sin' named best novel

THRISSUR: The Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards for the year 2023 were announced on Thursday. Haritha Savithri's 'Sin' has been named the best novel. Kalpetta Narayanan's 'Thiranjedutha Kavithakal' was selected for the poetry award. 'Udaya Arts and Sports Club' written by N Rajan won the award for the best short story. Gireesh PC Palam's 'E For Oedipus' was adjudged the best play.

'Indiaye Veendedukkal' by B Rajeev won the award for best scholarly literature. P Pavithran's 'Bhoopadam Thalathirikkumbol' won the award for best literary criticism. K Venu's 'Oranveshathinte Katha' bagged the award in the Best Biography/Autobiography category.

AM Sreedharan's 'Katha Kadhike' won the award for the best translated work. Nandini Menon bagged the best travelogue award for 'Amcho Bastar'. Gracie's 'Penkuttiyum Koottarum' won the award in the children's literature category.

MR Raghava Warrier and CL Jose were awarded the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship. KV Kumaran, PK Gopi, Prema Jayakumar, Bakkalam Damodaran, M Raghavan and Rajan Thiruvothu won the awards for Overall Contributions.
