THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The chargesheet filed said the bribery allegations against the personal assistant of Health Minister Veena George was fabricated. The police rejected the political conspiracy in the appointment fraud. The health minister claimed that there was a conspiracy in the allegation. The police found that former AISF leader K P Basith and Akhil Sajeev, secretary of the CITU office in Pathanamthitta, committed the fraud for financial gains.
There are four accused in the case. The first accused is Basith of Malappuram. Kozhikode native and former SFI leader Lenin Raj, his friend Regees and Akhil Sajeev are the other accused.
The charge sheet was filed in Thiruvananthapuram Magistrate Court. The charge sheet mainly stated that the bribery allegations against the minister's office are fabricated. Haridasan of Malappuram, who filed the complaint, was included in the witness’ list. The complaint alleged that Veena George's P A Akhil Mathew accepted bribe for the appointment of Haridasan’s daughter-in-law as medical officer. It has been stated in Haridasan's complaint that he was asked to pay Rs 5 lakh in installments and Akhil Sajeev of Pathanamthitta, was the mediator.
