Modi's confidant K Kailashnathan appointed as Lt. Governor of Puducherry

NEW DELHI: President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday issued an order appointing new Governors in nine states and a new Lieutenant Governor in Puducherry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's confidant and former chief principal secretary of Gujarat K Kailashnathan has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. He is a native of Vadakara in Kozhikode.

Kailashnathan, who was the Chief Principal Secretary to the Gujarat Chief Minister, retired from service last month. He is a 1979-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre.
