SHIRUR: Kaliasseri MLA M Vigin said the rescue operations for Arjun has been completely abandoned. No one who said that rescue operations will continue was seen today. Karnataka is not interested in the mission, he said.

There are reports that the navy has returned from Shirur. The navy team had reached here Monday morning. The district administration had said that they would conduct an inspection in Gangavali River. However, it did not happen and they have gone back to Karwar.

It is reported that there is no one in the area who were part of the rescue mission or part of the district administration. Presently only two or three policemen are there. Efforts are underway to restore road traffic using JCB.

Bringing the dredger from Thrissur is the only way forward. However, a decision regarding this will be taken only after checking the currents.

It has been fourteen days since Arjun went missing. Arjun's relatives are in Shirur. They had earlier clarified that they would return only after getting any information.

Arjun's sister Anju told a media that they have lost hope. She stated that she hoped the mission to continue with ministerial intervention and would go to any extent to continue it.
