Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL Technologies, is one such individual who spends crores daily on charitable causes. With a net worth of $35.6 billion (approximately Rs. 2,97,999 crores), he dedicates Rs 5.6 crores every day to philanthropy.

Born in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, Nadar started HCL Technologies in 1976, initially focusing on manufacturing calculators and microprocessors before pivoting to IT. For 40 years, he led the company through numerous challenges, establishing it as one of the world's leading IT firms with offices in sixty countries. In July 2020, he stepped down as chairman, passing the torch to his daughter, Roshni Nadar, making her the first woman to chair a listed Indian IT company. A year later, he also vacated the managing director position.

Nadar's philanthropic endeavors are unparalleled among Indian millionaires. According to the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2023, he spent approximately Rs 2,042 crores on charitable activities in 2022-2023, earning him the title of 'India's Most Generous' for three consecutive years.
