Local Self-Government Minister MB Rajesh said that there is a reason to specifically compliment Tovino even though everyone is working together for Wayanad.
"There are thousands of people in relief camps. Disposable utensils and glasses were being used to distribute food there. The response of the district coordinator of Suchitwa Mission to this challenge, which makes waste disposal more difficult, caught the attention of Tovino Thomas," says the minister.
"Following this, Tovino announced that a thousand steel utensils and glasses will be delivered to the camp. Through reusable steel utensils, we can avoid the huge amount of waste caused by disposable utensils and glasses. Tovino has put forward a good message," says the minister.
The Minister said that Tovino's exemplary support is especially appreciated on behalf of the Department of Local Self-Government. MB Rajesh also informed that steps have been taken to ensure steel utensils to the inmates of all the camps.
Tovino Thomas had donated Rs 25 lakh to Chief Minister's relief fund in the wake of Wayanad landslides
