PATHANAMTHITTA: Two people died after being electrocuted by a power line set up in a paddock to prevent pigs from entering. The tragic incident occurred near the Thottukara bridge in Pandalam, Pathanamthitta, around 7 AM this morning. The deceased have been identified as Chandrasekhara Kurup and Gopala Kurup, both natives of Koorampala.

Both men were farmers who had installed the power line to protect their crops, including bananas and tapioca, from being destroyed by pigs. One person was electrocuted after coming into contact with the power line. The second one was shocked while attempting to save him and died on the way to the hospital. The police noted that the electric wire had been installed due to the increasing wild boar nuisance in the area.
