Govt announces major IPS reshuffle: S Sreejith appointed ADGP, A Akbar new Transport Commissioner

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has announced a significant reshuffle at the IPS level, including key appointments and transfers.

Transport Commissioner S Sreejith has been appointed as the ADGP at Police Headquarters, with Ernakulam Crime Branch IG A Akbar taking over as the new Transport Commissioner. It is speculated that Sreejith's removal from the Transport Commissioner post was due to a difference of opinion with Minister K B Ganesh Kumar.

Yogesh Gupta, the Managing Director of the Beverages Corporation, has been appointed as the Vigilance Director. Head Quarters IG Harshita Attalluri will now serve as the new MD of Bevco. DGP Sheik Darvesh Sahib has been given the additional charge of Chairman of Kerala Police Housing Corporation, while DIG J. Jayanath will take over as MD.

C Nagarajalu, previously CMD of the Kerala Police Housing Corporation, has been appointed as the IG of the Thiruvananthapuram Crime Branch. S Ajitha Begum, formerly the DIG of Thrissur Range, has been appointed as the DIG of the Thiruvananthapuram Range. Thomson Jose, the DIG of Kannur Range, has also been given additional charge of the Thrissur Range.
