KOCHI: The High Court has directed the SNDP Yogam to compile a voter list for its upcoming organizational elections. Justice T R Ravi's order mandates the consolidation of membership lists from all branch meetings into a single comprehensive list, which must include members' addresses and identity document details. The court has set a deadline of one month for the preparation of this list.
This directive came in response to a petition filed by Prof M K Sanu, Adv M K Sasindran demanding that no disciplinary action be taken against branch office bearers. The petitioners requested the appointment of an administrator or receiver to manage the SNDP Yogam, sought to prevent General Secretary Vellapally Natesan from making appointments in the organization's educational institutions and called for a halt to disciplinary actions against union and branch office bearers. The order also stipulated the inclusion of Adv Sunil Mundapilly, A Somarajan, N D Premachandran and P P Madhusudan on the list of persons to assist the observer and returning officer appointed for the conduct of the election.
The case has been adjourned for further consideration after one month. Advocates A N Rajanbabu, Uday Hella, P B Krishnan and D Anil Kumar also represented the parties during the proceedings.
