BENGALURU: A decision may be taken on Monday regarding the resumption of the mission for Kozhikode native Arjun, who went missing in the Shirur landslide in Karnataka. Uttara Kannada District Collector Lakshmi Priya informed about this to Arjun's family. Currently, the flow in the Gangavali River is above five knots. The district administration concluded that the search can be resumed only if it is at least four.
The final decision in this regard will be taken by the naval personnel from Karwar. Arjun's relatives will meet MP M K Raghavan today to seek his intervention to resume the mission. MLA A K M Ashraf had said yesterday that Karnataka Chief Minister's office informed that the flow of Gangavali river is decreasing.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has given a written assurance to Arjun's family that all efforts will be made to find him. Kozhikode district collector Snehil Kumar had received the Chief Minister's letter after reaching Arjun's house. The chief minister informed Arjun's family in writing about the progress of the steps taken by the state government so far in this matter amid complaints that the Karnataka government is not resuming the search for Arjun despite the favourable order of the High Court.
